The iconic Victoria Falls Hotel is unlike any other traditional hotel. It’s a historic hotel that was built as part of an ambitious project amidst an extraordinary landscape, one of the natural wonders of the world. Its existence is due to the development of the railway system in Zimbabwe in the early 20th century. The original structure was built to accommodate the workers on the railway.

Not many people know about the island Province of Palawan in the Mimarop region, and even though it is the largest province in the Philippines, it remains unspoilt and ripe for exploring.

The best way to see it is with a local Filipino company like Tao that fosters ecotourism and sustainability while introducing tourists to these islands’ local way of life.

I would spend three days with a group using one of Tao’s small vessels and doing some island hopping. We started our adventure on the island of Busuanga,  connected by air to the capital Manila.

Raja Ampat is a hidden paradise in the remote westernmost part of Indonesia with breathtaking views of Raja Ampat islands.

After a 10-hour Qatar Airways flight from London to Jakarta, a day’s rest at the Hotel Bandara International, conveniently located near the airport, I took another 6-hour flight to Sorong, but the journey wasn’t over yet. A twenty-minute drive to the harbor, where a speedboat was waiting for us to carve our way through choppy waters on the final 3-hour leg of my journey
